Barbara joined the firm in 1998. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, a member of Resolution and a trained collaborative lawyer.

Barbara has considerable experience in dealing with all aspects of the law relating to families and couples. Her particular interest is in the field of divorce and relationship breakdown and dealing with the related financial aspects. In addition she advises on and drafts pre-nuptial, pre-civil partnership and cohabitation agreements.

Barbara works with Berkshire Women’s Aid and with the Police in cases involving domestic abuse and has advised the Wokingham Domestic Abuse Forum on legal issues in this area. She has significant expertise in dealing with urgent applications to the Court for Orders to protect families from abuse.

In cases involving private children issues Barbara is dedicated to resolving matters in an amicable and child focused way. She is able to deal with urgent applications relating to child welfare as well as issues relating to residence, contact and permanent removal from the jurisdiction.

In addition to dealing with contentious cases Barbara is trained as a Collaborative Lawyer and able to offer clients the option to deal with their case in this non-confrontational way.

Barbara has over a number of years provided advice and training to the local Citizen’s Advice Bureaus in all areas of family work.
